Minnie and Ailsa Raise £45.50 for Water Aid

Very well done to P5 pupils Minnie and Ailsa. They had a tombola stall on The Meadows on Sunday and raised £45.50 for Water Aid! Minnie organised the stall and used her old toys and books as prizes in the tombola. She also sold her Dad’s homebaking too. Super Citizens!

Ailsa Contacts Author Kimberley Newton Fusco

P5A pupil Ailsa was so taken with Kimberley Newton Fusco's book "The Daring Escape of Beatrice and Peabody" that she wrote to the American author and was absolutely thrilled to receive a letter and a signed copy of her book! Great initiative, Ailsa, and for your time, trouble and generosity you certainly made someone's day here in Edinburgh, Kimberley!

 

 

Janis Mackay Creative Writing Workshop for P5A

A delight to welcome celebrated, award winning Children's Author Janis Mackay to P5A to deliver a creative writing workshop. All P5 pupils have now begun their very own novel! Thank you to Ms Bethan Owen for organising and to Janis for agreeing to be Sciennes' Patron of Reading.
